Textures

I have a million things to blog about so I'm settling on just one.

This is our basement, or at least it was our basement.

Our house is great but we have this finished/ unfinished basement that my hubby had a vision for.

It had a brick paneled wall and we thought we'd just use it.

It's just right for a man cave.  So we worked with it.

I applied plaster (drywall compound) here and there to create that plastered brick wall look

It took a few coats and playing but it was fun play.'

After choosing a nice color for the wall, installing a gas burner, a few pieces of comfy furniture.....Oh, and ripping out the old blue carpet and laying down some awesome vinyl planks..........

We've got ourselves a nice hangout.

It's coming along!

TheArtfulLife  Shoppe is going great and I just returned from a job in Ohio where I worked on an old world Italian inspired wall texture for our friends Ralph and Sherry Schie of Shy Cellars.

Sherry  went crazy with the updating videos and you can find them on this link...Shy Cellars Project
(I'm the short squatty one...teeheehee)

Just a sneak peak of what I did there..........let me show you what I did to practice on a wall in my own Family room.

A little compound for texture...a little white paint to seal...

A little color wash for a glow...

A little antiquing glaze to finish...

It's turned out great and gave me confidence to handle the Shy Cellars job.

Thanks for stopping in and checking in on me.  Life's been a crazy ride and I'm having a fun time.
Hope you are too.

blessings, T
