Well, we are in the house!
We were so blessed to have so many of the guys my hubby works with and our son in law to show up and help us get all our stuff in this new house.
I was humbled by how they worked so hard.
They got here between 8 and 8:30 and we were in by noon.
So boxes are being unpacked and I'm putting our stuff in it's new place.
Funny now it works in one house and not so much in another, but I'm sorting, placing and moving things around...oh my aching back!
I've had this ole cabinet for 18 years and it's been green, black, red, and white.
I think it works in it's current color so I sighed a sigh of relief when I didn't have to get the paintbrush out. You know I love a good furniture makeover, but Momma's tired.
I just love the birdhouse built for the top of it by my friend from Tattered and Torn Primitives several years ago. Stacy, its still a fave of mine.
This Living room had one wall that was this green and 3 walls that were pink....yes, pink so, the painting wasn't an option, it was an emergency so I found the paint in the basement and had just enough to finish the other 3 walls. whoohoo!! free and easy.
The Dining room has this cool wainscot and crown molding and I wanted a dramatic color in there so Black it is! I've never done a black room and this is my opportunity.
I have a dark oak hutch coming and my Father in Law is going to build a farmhouse trestle table for this room. lots of plans for this space.
I've also had this chalkboard built by Bill and Carol Porter for a long time. I added an iron look scroll and I love the look
I'm working on using what I have and I have a lot of stuff so this mirror that I got from Country Gatherings in WV and some thrift store dishes from HandUp Foundation....Oh how I miss both those stores. Mostly I miss the people there.
We've been enjoying our back deck and especially the outdoor fireplace.
There is a painting on the front of it that apparently is glued to it. I like it for now, but I'm thinking of making it more like a winery look meaning we've been to a few wineries that have had fireplaces like these with a big chunky mantle, urns with topiary, benches, Adirondack chairs. I can just see it now. Future project.
but for now, I'm enjoying the hydrangeas from the bushes on the property
our new sofa
and seeing family more...
I got to take our Savannah school shopping this past week.
Oh, and I need to mention that I received this sweet gift from Susan Keene.
She makes me smile and I love it!
She will hang in my studio once I can put that together. I am humbled when anyone thinks of me and especially creates something for me. I cherish this wacky gift. giggles.
Thank you Susan.
Well off to nest a bit more.
Blessings to you
